The Leitner System is a spaced repetition flashcard technique designed to improve learning and memory retention. It uses a set of flashcards organized into different boxes or levels, with cards that are answered correctly moving to a higher box for less frequent review, while incorrect cards return to the first box for more frequent testing.

For instance, a student preparing for a language exam might create flashcards for vocabulary words. As they practice, words they remember correctly will move into less frequent review boxes, while challenging words remain in the first box, ensuring they focus on what they struggle with the most.
